Advanced 2 - THW not permit children to receive religious instruction. Novice 2 - THW cap salaries in professional sports. Advanced 3 - THWR Apple to unlock its phones. Novice 3 - THW ban publication of school shootings. Advanced 4 - THR the rise of Donald Trump. Novice 4 - THW host the Olympics in a permanent site. Advanced 5 - This house would let its physicians lie to patients. Novice 5 - THW use organs of the dead without consent. Quarters A - THW give amnesty to Bashar Al-Assad. Quarters N - THW tax the rich more. Semis A - Assuming the existence of an intoxicating drug without side effects, THW ban it. Motions for Senior Nationals 2016: Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - THW implement proportional representation in Canada. Round 3 - THR the rise of citizen journalism. Round 4 - As Canadian aboriginal peoples, TH prefers protoests and court battles to negotations with governments. Round 5 - THS the removal from public places of symbols and statues with racist histories. Round 6 - THBT there should be a publication ban on the names of all defendants and victims in criminal trials until a verdict has been reached. Quarters - THW ban the private use of drones. Semis - THS the right to be forgotten on the Internet. Finals - As the EU, THW prioritize security over human rights.

2014-15:

Queen's University High School Debating Tournament (January 9th-11th, 2015): Round 1 - This House would ban private rehabilitation programmes. Round 2 - This House would protect the right to be "forgotten" from internet searches. (i.e., any person may request personal information about them to be deleted from search engines.) Round 3 - This House, as a progressive female candidate, would not use conventional gender roles. (e.g., marketing oneself as a mother, as a wife) as a tactic in political campaigns.) Round 4 - This House believes that media outlets ought not report the content of corporate documents which are suspected to be leaked by foreign governments. Round 5 - This House, as an established art museum (eg, Louvre, Victoria & Albert), would opt to show works by lesser known artists at the expense of famous artists from the same time period. Round 6 - This House would ban all faith based criminal rehabilitation and proselytization programs from prison.( to proselytize means to convert or attempt to convert someone from one religion or belief system to another.) Octos - This house supports US military intervention in the Mexican Drug War. Quarters - In April 2007, the British Home Office introduced PREVENT, an initiative to stop British Muslim youth from being lured into violent extremism. Muslim organizations in Britain would receive Prevent funding to organize “Spittin’ Light” hip-hop shows, where American and British Muslim rappers with “mainstream interpretations” of Islam would parade their talents. This House supports the British government's use of funding initiatives to moderate radical Islamist art subcultures. Semis - In cases where a citizen dies at the hands of a police officer, This House believes that the officer ought be automatically indicted for manslaughter. (To indict is to bring a formal accusation against, as a means of bringing to trial.) U16 Finals - This House believes that health charities ought not accept any donation from companies or individuals who produce or profit from the sale of goods which have harmful health effects (e.g., tobacco companies/fast food, etc.) Finals - This House regrets the rise of "entertainment news". (e.g., The Daily Show, This Week Tonight, The O'Reilly Factor, etc.)

QSDA Junior Tournament (St. Georges School: Monday, October 6th, 2014): Rounds 1 and 2 (Prepared) - THW require people of mandatory voting age to vote. Round 3 - THW cancel gym class.

QSDA Senior Tournament (Selwyn House School: September 29th, 2014): Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - THW prohibit the transport of oil and petroleum by rail. Round 3 - THW force car manufacturers to make electric vehicles.

2013-14:

Junior National Debating Championships (Toronto): Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - THW not permit countries that violate human rights to host the Olympics. Round 3 - This House regrets the annual commemoratation of past wars. Round 4 - This house would require countries that are the largest polluters to take in environmental refugees. Round 5 - This house believes that assassination is a legitimate tactic of foreign policy. Round 6 - This house believes that parents should secretly install spyware on their children's electronic devices. Semi-Finals - This house would impose a tax on low-brow entertainment in order to subsidize high-brow art. Finals - Humans have developed the ability to travel through space (aka the Starship Enterprise). You discover an alien civilization with whom humans have had no prior contact. We have vastly superior technology and medicine. This House would not contact the alien civilization.

Senior National Debating Championships (Winnipeg): Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This house believes that party leaders should be chosen by the caucus rather than the party membership. Round 3 - This House believes that the ICC should be able to prosecute crimes against the environment. Round 4 - If your child had the opportunity to become a star in the entertainment industry, this House would not let them. Round 5 - This House believe that Walmart is good for the World. Round 6 - This House believe that, save for segregation, prisons should simulate everyday life. Quarter-Finals - THW ban voluntourism. Semi-Finals - This House, as Russia, would invade Eastern Ukraine. Finals - This house would require nations to look after an equivalent percentage of refugees as their share of global GDP

Round 2 -This house would ban players convicted of domestic violence or sexual assault from professional sports leagues. Round 3 -This house would limit executive pay. Round 4 -This house would use drones for military purposes. Quarter-Finals - This house regrets the influence of Facebook. Semi-Finals - This house would let its physicians assist suicide. Finals - This house would grant amnesty to Edward Snowden.

Advanced Category: Round 1 - This house would ban government surveillance without a warrant. Round 2 - This house would ban players convicted of domestic violence or sexual assault from professional sports leagues. Round 3 - This house would not permit unpaid internships. Round 4 - This house would not fire employees for their behaviour outside work hours. Round 5 - This house would require companies that receive public funding to have an equal number of men and women directors. Quarter-Finals - This house would not tell the terminally ill. Semi-Finals - This house supports self determination. Finals - This house would grant amnesty to Edward Snowden.

University of Ottawa (CP Style): Round 1 - This House would ban media from the courtroom. Round 2 - This House believes that development aid does more harm than good. Round 3 - This House would pay teachers based on their students results on standardized testing. Round 4 - This House would boycott the work of artists with morally abhorrent lives. Round 5 - This House believes that politicians should be required to take a pill that prevents lying. Semi-Finals - This House would give UN Peacekeepers the mandate use lethal force to protect civilians. Junior-Finals - If This House had perfect knowledge that the world is going to it would not tell the rest the world. Finals - There is a machine that will erase the memory of a person in a bad relationship. This House would use the machine.

QSDA Provincials: Senior Division: Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This House believes that the Canadian Senate should be abolished. Round 3 - This House would create a global internet regulating body. Round 4 - This House would allow arms sales only to countries with democratically elected governments. Round 5 - This House would provide welfare in the form of goods and services, rather than monetary supplementation. Round 6 - This House believes violent protest is a just response to political oppression.

Junior Division: Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This House believes that private lives of politicians should not be subject to press scrutiny. Round 3 - This House would require citizens to participate in the democratic process. Round 4 - House would remove events based on subjective judging from the Olympics. Round 5 - This House would grant individuals ultimate rights to their own organs in both life and death. Round 6 - This House would provide internet access to those being oppressed by authoritarian governments.

York University (BP Style): Round 1 - This House would genetically modify the next generation. Round 2 - This House would allow the buying and selling of organs. Round 3 - This house would prioritize the well being of the environment above people. Round 4 - This House would enter other countries without consent to retrieve criminals. Round 5 - This House would allow citizens to allocate how their taxes are used. Junior Final - This House believes that people should actively give up their privacy rights to the government. Semi-Finals -This House would allow people to buy or sell their vote. Finals - University courses should not be required to make religious accommodations for students.

McGill Winter Debating Extravaganza (CP Style): Round 1 - THW take student feedback into account when promoting faculty members. Round 2 - THBT the West should fund protest movements against undemocratic governments in foreign countries. Round 3 - THW not allow the media to identify criminal suspects before they went to trial. Round 4 - THW create a permanent site for the Olympics. Round 5 - THW never censor art. Round 6 - THW ban protesters from wearing masks. Semi-Finals - THBT as a fan you have an obligation not to support artists whose actions you find morally objectionable. Novice Final - THW not allow children to have a career in the entertainment industry. Finals - Joe killed his wife and two children. Fleeing the scene, he was hit by a bus and suffered severe amnesia. He doesn't remember anything about who he was or what he did. THW not prosecute Joe.

QSDA Junior (Kells Academy): Round 1 - This House would ban the use of animals for human entertainment. Round 2 - This House regrets the influence of television. Round 3 - This House would make fantasy novels (such as Harry Potter!), mandatory in the high school curriculum.

Queens University: Round 1 - THW ban the advertisement of alcohol. Round 2 - THBT insular religious communities should mandate that their members spend a year in mainstream society. Round 3 - THW make the termination of upper management (CEOs, CFOs, etc.) of companies a requirement for the receipt of government bailouts. Round 4 - THW make passengers criminally liable in cases of drunk driving when they have reason to believe the driver has been drinking. Round 5 - TH regrets the rise of the "Culture of Connectivity". Round 6 - THBT developing democracies should ban political parties with an idealogical opposition to democracy. Octo-Finals - Under legislation passed on December 10, Israeli authorities can detain illegal immigrants entering the country for up to a year without trial. 30,000 illegal African migrants (mostly Eritrean and Sudanese) in Israel began marching in protest to the embassies of Canada, France, Britain, and others demanding that they exert pressure on Israel to recognize them as refugees, stop arresting them and free those imprisoned. This House, as Canada, would publicly support the protestors. Quarter-Finals - This House would remove all users of performance enhancing drugs from sports halls of fame. Semi-Finals - THBT Internet companies should build in additional security measures to resist and undermine NSA attempts to access user data. Finals - As a dissenting political artist in China, This House would operate anonymously.

QSDA Senior (Royal West): Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This House would support a free trade agreement between Canada and the European Union. Round 3 - This house would ban Black Friday sales. Round 4 - This House believes that unauthorized distribution of intimate photos or videos should be a criminal offence.

QSDA Junior (Vincent Massey): Round 1 - THW allow women to compete in mens' sports leagues. Round 2 - THW take Shakespeare out of the high school curriculum. Round 3 - THW allow doctor-assisted suicide.

Oxford Cup: Round 1 - THW force clinically obese children to attend residential weight loss and education during the summer holidays. Round 2 - THW make voting compulsory. Round 3 - THBT the state should subsidize private home ownership. Round 4 - This House would abolish prisons. Round 5 - THS the disbandment of the European Union. Round 6 - This House would punish parents who smoke in the presence of children. Semi-Finals - This House would make welfare dependent on drug tests. Finals - This House would abolish the monarchy.

Carleton University "Xerxes Cup": Round 1 - THW never use social media. Round 2 - THO government funding of religious schools. Round 3 - THW make fighting illegal in ice hockey. Round 4 - THW prefer benevolent dictatorship to a democracy. Round 5 - THW make Jurassic Park. Semis - THW bio enhance its children. Finals - THW convince the natives that you're god. (there was an info-slide)

QSDA Junior (The Study): Round 1 - School should be year-round. Round 2 - It is unethical to eat meat. Round 3 - Parents should be punished for their childrens' mistakes.

McGill University (BP Style): Round 1 - THW ban criminals from publishing accounts of their crime. Round 2 - TH, as a newly democratized state, would not allow individuals associated with the old regime to run for office. Round 3 - TH, as the coach of a national sports team, would never hire athletes that are known to be racist, homophobic or sexist. Round 4 - A wealthy, French art collector has died, and in his last will instructed for an old and famous French painting to be cremated with him. THW not allow him to destroy the art. Round 5 - THBT musicians from developed nations ought not perform in nations with poor human rights records. Round 6 - As an extremely wealthy parent, THW not leave an inheritance to your children. Semis/Junior Finals - Assuming the technology exists, THW ban memory erasing technology. Finals - THW allow pro-life groups to pay teenagers to carry their fetuses to term.

Osgoode Hall Tournament (York University): Round 1 - THW allow high school administrations to block cell phone signals. Round 2 - THW allow free labor immigration within North America. Round 3 - THW mandate all Hogwarts students to take a "muggles studies" course. Round 4 - THW put pressure on China to release political prisoner Ai Wei Wei. Round 5 - BIRT countries with booming populations to have a single tradable child permit per adult. Semis - THW require all politicians running for national office to run as independents. Finals - THW remove Rob Ford from office.

Marianopolis "Aristotle Cup": Round 1 - THW legalize marijuana. Round 2 - THBT childhood fairytales do more harm than good. Round 3 - TH condemns the music industry for its emphasis on sexuality. Round 4 - THW boycott the Sochi Olympics. Finals - THBT the feminist movement should seek a ban on pornography.

QSDA Junior (Loyola): Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This House proposes that the city council of Montreal pass a resolution to amend its charter to declare Montreal a bilingual city. Round 3 - This House proposes that the study of a third language be compulsory for all students in Quebec high schools.

2012-13:

Junior National Championships (Vancouver): Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This house believes that plural marriage should be accepted as a legitimate family construct in Canada. Round 3 - THW ban the publication of opinion polls during election campaigns. Round 4 - THBT junk food companies should not be allowed to be sponsors in sporting events. Round 5 - THBT university education should be free. Round 6 (Hidden Quarters) - THW regrets the Arab Spring. Semis - This House would privatize water. Finals (Prepared) - This house believes that plural marriage should be accepted as a legitimate family construct in Canada.

Senior National Championships (Calgary): Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This House would allow doctors to prescribe placebos. Round 3 - THW hold company directors criminally liable for the actions of their companies. Round 4 - THW condemn the video game industry. Round 5 - THS lifetime band for performance enhancing drug use in sport. Round 6 - THW make campaign promises binding, triggering an automatic by election if they are broken. Quarters - THW never make policy through citizen-initiated referenda. Semis - THS the use of ecoterrorism. Final (Prepared) - This House would allow doctors to prescribe placebos.

Donahoe Cup (Sacred Heart School of Halifax) - Senior: Round 1 - This house would ban advertisements that use gender stereotypes. Round 2 - THBT Hogwarts should abandon the house system. Round 3 - This house would not allow workers to form unions. Round 4 - This house would intervene to end hostage takings regardless of the risk to hostages. Round 5 - This house would permit parents to pay surrogates to have children. Quarters - This house believes that violent revolution is an acceptable means of overcoming social and economic marginalization. Semis - This house would impose minimum sentences. Finals - Assuming an intoxicating drug without medical side effects was discovered, we would not allow it to be sold.

Donahoe Cup (Sacred Heart School of Halifax) - Novice: Round 1 - This house would teach music in public elementary schools. Round 2 - This house would lower the voting age. Round 3 - This house would ban extra large drinks. Round 4 - This house would ban media publication of school shootings. Quarters - This house would hold those who participate in risky sports responsible for their rescue costs. Semis - This house believes Canadians receive too much formal education. Finals - This house would allow parents to choose the sex of their child.

McGill Spring Debating Extravaganza (CP Style): Round 1 - THW legalize all drugs. Round 2 - THW not give aid to states with poor LGBT rights records. Round 3 - THW ban entire teams for the remainder of a season for players found using performance enhancing drugs. Round 4 - THO gender specific awards for achievement. Round 5 - THBT Countries with booming populations should allocate every adult a single tradeable permit to have child. Round 6 (Quarters) - THW not send non-violent offenders to prison. Junior Final - THS child labour in developing countries. Semi-Finals - THW determine abortion rights through holding a popular referendum in which only women are allowed to vote. Final - You are a Liberal leaning journalist covering the White House. You have received exclusive and indisputable evidence that during his college years, Barack Obama had an active gay sex life. THW publish the story.

Durham Schools (UK): This House would have admissions quotas for students from low income areas entering universities. This House believes that the International Criminal Court should offer amnesty to Joseph Kony in return for laying down his arms and officially disbanding the Lord's Resistance Army. This House would allow gender reassignment treatment for minors without parental consent. This House believes that MGM should cast a woman as the next James Bond. This House believes that western liberal democracies should not give financial or military support to nondemocratic regimes in the Middle East.

Oxford Schools (UK): This House would grant an amnesty to illegal immigrants. This House would remove patents on life saving drugs for poor countries. This House would have important environment policy decided by panels of experts rather than elected officials. This House would require all religions to allow women to rise to their highest ranks.

QSDA Junior (ECS): Round 1 - THB the private lives of politicians should be available to the public. Round 2 - TH, as the US, would not allow private citizens to own firearms. Round 3 - TH opposes Valentines day. Round 4 - THW require all parents to pass a parenting test before being granted custody of their children. Finals - The world will end in seven days. THW publicize it.

Queen's University: Round 1 - THW criminalize the payment of ransom. Round 2 - THW allow doctors to refuse to perform treatments that violate their religious beliefs...(like abortion). Round 3 - THW not publicize the details of mass murders. Round 4 - THW forbid the pursuit of self-learning artificial intelligence. Round 5 - THW give tax breaks to manufacturing companies who employ a large workforce. Round 6 - THW not allow repeat sex offenders to have profiles on social media site. Quarters – In ten years, NASA will be able to send a human mission to Mars, but the astronauts will not return alive.This house believes that NASA should still fund the mission. Semis – THBT the mexican government should allow the military and police to use extralegal action when combating drug cartels. Novice Final – This house would ban combat sports. Finals – You are the friend of an unknown but masterful author. On his deathbed he asks that you never publish his works.Upon his death, you read his work and discover they are masterpieces. THW ignore his will and publish his works.

Carleton University (Ottawa): Round 1 - THS reduced criminal sentences for those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Round 2 - THW not allow the family and friends of terrorist hostages to pay ransom. Round 3 - THW not have children. Round 4 - THW ban medical testing on animals. Round 5 - THS full public subsidization of political parties. Semi-Finals - THBT Hamas is more responsible for violence/deaths in Gaza than Israel. Final - THW prefer a one-world government to the status quo.

University of British Columbia: Round 1 - This House would require people to reveal actual identity while communicating on the Internet. Round 2 - This House would ban drone strikes. Round 3 - This House would extend government funding for video game development. Round 4 - This House believes that professional sports teams should fire players who publicly use homophobic slurs. Round 5 - This House believes that terminally patients should be able to access treatments not previously approved by FDA. Semis - This House would give amnesty to dictators who step down voluntarily. Finals - This House would ban animal experimentation.

Oxford Cup (Winnipeg): Round 1 - The West should support friendly dictatorships rather than encouraging democracy. Round 2 - This House would encourage workers to join unions. Round 3 - This House regrets the Tar Sands. Round 4 - This House would reduce the gap between the rich and the poor domestically. Round 5 - This House would allow performance enhancing drugs. Round 6 - This House supports binding citizen-initiated referenda in Canada Semis - Western nations recognize the West Bank as an independent Palestinian state Finals - This House supports proportional representation for Canadian elections

McGill High School Tournament (BP Style): Round 1 - THW allow individuals to sell their organs. Round 2 - THB parents should not monitor their children's online activities without their knowledge. Round 3 - THW only allow individual human beings to donate to political campaigns. Round 4 - THW use military force to implement regime change in Syria. Round 5 - THW require politicians to send their children to public schools. Round 6 - THW force priests to testify about the contents of confessions in court. Junior Final - THW legalize all drugs. Semi - THS scientists who fabricate evidence exaggerating the certainty of man-made climate change, when there is no likelihood of being caught. Final - THW consign the Nobel Peace Prize to the dustbin of history.

Marianopolis "Aristotle Cup": Round 1 - THW chemically castrate sex offenders. Round 2 - THBT "hacktivism" does more harm than good. Round 3 - THW pay reparations to the descendants of slaves. Round 4 - THW conduct a pre-emptive strike on Iranian nuclear facilities. Finals - THBT civil liberties should not be suspended in times of national crisis.

Trafalgar (Junior): Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This House would abolish all government-sanctioned forms of gambling. Round 3 - This house would make voting mandatory.

Stanstead (Senior): Round 1 - This house would legalize polygamy. Round 2 - This house believes that beauty pageants cause more harm than good. Round 3 - This house believes that the Olympic dream is dead.

2011-12:

Junior National Debating Championships (Montreal): Rounds 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This House believes that D'Arcy McGee should be considered a Canadian hero. Round 3 - This House believes that students have the right to fully subsidized university education. Round 4 - This House believes that parents should be able to restrict medical care for their children on religious grounds. Round 5 - This House would make 2 years of military training compulsory for every citizen. Round 6 - This House would eliminate all drug testing for the Olympics. Quarters - This House believes it is legitimate for companies to monitor their employee's internet usage on their IT infrastructure. Semis - This House would prohibit the sale of violent video games to minors. Finals - This House would ban cosmetic surgery.

Senior National Debating Championships (Montreal): Rounds 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This House believes Canada should significantly increase its presence in the Arctic. Round 3 - This House believes that students have a right to a fully subsidized university education. Round 4 - This House would not allow doctors to disclose the sex of the fetus. Round 5 - This House believes that Iran has a right to develop nuclear weapons. Round 6 - This House believes that post-revolutionary societies should destroy all art work created in support of a fallen dictator. Quarters - This House believes that any punishment given to a drunk driver should also be given to all other adult passengers in the vehicle. Semis - This House believes that the use of human shields in war is justified. Finals - This House supports a Liberal/NDP merger.

University of Toronto Hart House: Round 1 - This House Would Ban Zoos. Round 2 - This House Would Force Feed Anorexics. Round 3 - This House Believes That National Sports Teams should reflect the diversity of the local populations. Round 4 - This House Believes That Criminals sentenced to life in prison should be allowed to choose the death penalty instead. Round 5 - This House Believes That Western Universities Should not admit the children of oppressive dictators. Semis - This Hosue Would Not Contact Uncontacted Human Populations. Finals - You are a citizen of a tyrannical regime. Given the oppurtunity to rebel against this regime, even with the certainty of death, This House Would rebel.

QSDA Senior Provincials (Trafalgar): Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This House believes that crossing the floor should trigger a by-election. Round 3 - This House believes that parents should be held legally responsible for the actions of their children. Round 4 - This House believes that Western liberal democracies have an obligation to intervene in countries where human rights violations occur.

Queen's University: Round 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This House believes that the West should fear a resurgent Russia. Round 3 - This House would prioritize organ donations to those who have lived healthy lifestyles. Round 4 - This House would abolish athletic scholarships. Round 5 - This House would hold the state liable for citizen deaths caused by homelessness. Round 6 - This House believes that colonial states have a duty to intervene in their failed post-colonial states. Quarterfinals - This House would not permit immigration on the grounds of family reunification. Semifinals - This House believes that the world is safer under the threat of mutually assured destruction than under the promise of non-proliferation. Junior Finals - This House would only jail violent offenders. Finals - This House would legalize duels to the death.

Centennial (Senior - all impromptu): Round 1 - This House supports a Montreal bid for the Olympics. Round 2 - This House supports unrestricted file sharing of music on the internet. Round 3 - This House would require Canadian political parties to field 50% women candidates in all elections. Championship Round - This House believes that war criminals should be tried by the international community instead of in their own country.

National Championships: Rounds 1 and 2 (Prepared) - This House believes that outsourcing is beneficial to Canadian society. Round 3 (Impromptu) - This House would ban all lotteries and casinos in Canada. Round 4 (Impromptu) - This House supports the use of referenda to set legislation. Round 5 (Impromptu) - This House believes that labour unions are detrimental to the Canadian workplace. Round 6 (Impromptu) - This House supports the use of force to impose democracy. North American Championships (all impromptu): Round 1 - This House would choose a practical education over a liberal arts education. Round 2 - This House would force its homeless people into shelters. Round 3 - This House would make AIDS drugs freely available to all developing nations. Round 4 - This House would recognize a right of national self-determination. Championship Round - This House believes that governments are responsible for intervening in human rights abuses abroad.

Stanstead (Junior): This House believes TV is detrimental to teenagers. This House would allow performance enhancing drugs in sports.

Lower Canada College (Senior - all impromptu): Round 1 - This House would prohibit private vehicles in city centres. Round 2 - This House believes that employers should have the right to require their employees to submit to drug tests. Round 3 - This House supports standardized testing.
